Inspired by Joe Wenderoth’s 2004 novel Letter to Wendy’s, “All My Visits to the Gap in No Particular Order” was borne of the author’s real encounters. A wise teacher once asked, “If you were to peer into the closet of your life, how many layers of GAP clothing would be piled there?” And so this essay becomes an archive where the reader can move through time, as a viewer might move through the Costume Institute at the Met.
